Around 90% of Hannover were destroyed during WW2 and when I saw some of
the old houses that remained untouched it really broke my heart as I
could only imagine how pretty this city must have once been.
I hope you will enjoy the (rebuilt) remains as much as I did.

The breakfast was fantastic, too. You could make yourself waffles, or full English breakfast or tomato mozzarella or you could take honey out of a real honeycomb. :-) How cool is that? And you were also given your own newspaper in the morning.

Hannover impressed in the short time we spent there. ... success to the main rail line that runs through it from Berlin to all points west, notably paris, Brussels and our next stop, Amsterdam. Hannover has given us our most authentic glimpse of Modern Germany. A country that we Brits have very strong ties with. We ought to really make an effort to get to know our fellow saxons… we both have a lot to learn from each other. We can teach them how to laugh at them selves, and they can teach us how to play football……
