Landed. Waited about 25 on the ground before disembarking but from there it was a breeze at both security, customs and the cab ride to the hotel. Crossed the Williamsburg bridge and saw Manhattan.
One of the buildings (yet to be identified(Empire State building)) top was lit up like a rainbow for the pride weekend. What a welcome!!

... an Irish pub, had fish and chips, it was ok, the fish was nice but not crispy enough and the chips were too thickly cut, so they were a bit hard in the middle. But I guess I wasn't expecting Whitby standard fish and chips in New York.
It was then back to the apartment where I proceeded to listen to bbc radio comedies and pass out about 9. Long day, lots of walking, I was a tired bear.

... go through more security scanners before we could proceed to the memorial. There were heaps of people waiting in line. As we were waiting a heap of police motorbikes went past we later saw them inside the memorial, they were LA police visiting.
