... Our last memory of our home in Sanda was Kayoko in the parking lot below the train platform. She had dropped us off at the door...waved goodbye until she couldn't see us any more then drove to the other side of the station. Not wanting us to leave, she got our attention and chatted away as we waited for the train. So sweet to see tears in her eyes and feel the same.
We have a wonderful Japanese family....

... special platter for 2, two grilled beef nigiri and two draft beers (Asahi it turns out) to start with. O.M.G all the beef pieces were to die for - tender and melt in your mouth. As we strolled through the park we didn’t have to look very hard as the deer were more or less everywhere, although their density ...

... stumbled upon a gem. Not only was the Kobe steak and all the other food amazing, but we found out that that restaurant was where Tepanyaki was created during WWII. The history of tepanyaki we learned, was when American military men came to Japan, they wanted to see how the steaks were being cooked, so the tepan grill was created so that they could watch. Another thing we learned about the restaurant was that one of the cooks that had worked there about ...

... figurines everywhere, books, Hello Kitty... you name it, it was in there... Makely was first into the lair and said it was a must visit... Lonely Planet missed this one but it will DEFINITELY be in our travel guide. Later, while playing Hold'em, Makely got a special sake from the bartender which was very potent. Not sure what it was, but the sputtering after the first sip told me it was strong. It was pricey too but he ended up ...
