A travelling day today and off to the furthest south-east corner of Germany to meet up with our friends who live in the small town of Eibau. We had a good journey, autobahn most of the way round Chemnitz & Dresden, then down the road to Eibau – an N road but very patched, and unusual in that it seemed to be wall-to-wall villages with very little space in between, unlike the A9 which hardly gave us a view of a house.

Day 210-211: a great weekend at the snow!

... others, we met Paul down at the snow. He was impatiently waiting, but still waiting, and had bought us all ski passes. Thanks Pauly! We then went up and down three times and had a blast. We even went down the intermediate run. Paul was a natural! He is so confidant which resulted in him being quite good at it. By the last run he was so fast! He even went off a few jumps! It was really great fun. Hubert videoed a lot of it too which will make great thing to look back on ...

Day 209: an adventure to Czech

... Apparently it used to be German territory and a lot of the population call themselves German: well perhaps the older generation. All the signs were written in Czech and then German. A few of the younger ones spoke English, but mostly our German friends had to do the talking for us. We then went to the information place to inquire about a place to stay. ... and had to wander around (in theory with only tealight candles but it was way too windy for that) to collect clues and find the treasure. There were about 20 locations and when we unscrambled the code we found the treasure at the top of the castle tower. Waiting for us was the second place reward of wine and a candy bar. The staff of the castle was great and ran around dressed up to scare us throughout the grounds. The two main guys were Hunza and Hunza and had the ...
