Leaving the hills behind, we head for the Valencian coast and our last stop before our arrival at our apartment. We have decided to stop at Benicassim. I know nothing about the place, other than that there is a huge music festival there every year... but not when we are passing through. We are not expecting very much... The nearest I have been to one of these types of music festival is glimpses of rain and tents in muddy fields ...

On Saturday, I woke up around 7 so that I could take a metro to the train station. At the train station I, along with about 20 other people, bought a ticket to a small town on a peninsula called Peñíscola. It was around a 2 hour train ride to get to a neighboring town called Benicarlo. From that station, we had to walk about 10 minutes to get to a bus stop, which had a 20 minute bus ...

... haircut incident ). As it is such a great place to be, there are quite a few longer stay people here who from what I saw on the T.V. once, do resemble the cast of Cocoon, a bit leathery and brown, but nice people all the same... Right, that's enough of the tourist guide. Off to drink sea water, chase tennis balls and try to do something about this haircut to try and attract the Spanish ...

... breakfast, with a huge room, lovely bed,enormous bathroom and a balcony overlooking the marshes and mountains, must spray the room for mossys before we go to bed! Had a lovely stroll along the seafront in the sunshine to the old town and back, grabbed a beer overlooking the sparkling turquoise sea then back to the room for some free time. ... blasted. Had a nice cold beer overlooking the beach on the other side of the peninsula and retired to the hotel pool which was sheltered and sunny, even managed a dip in the icy cold pool.
Last night here on the move again in the morning to Playa Flamenca so a very early 8 am start for us!
