... alternatives...it was crazy. Thanfully I had brought with me a reasonably good German road map and managed to navigate us back onto more major routes. I'm sure that somebody had once told me that the German auto-bahns were good but there were very little dual carriageways or the like. I was ready to chuck the satnav out the window and resorted to navigating by the map alone.
