Phase 2 : De routard à montagnard.

... sonores. Les longs moments coupés de la réalités enfouis dans ma tête, dans mon monde à simplement réfléchir de tous et de rien. De me comprendre, me saisir, me définir, me concrétiser; me rappeler, qui je suis. De déconner avec tout ceux que j'ai croisé, qu'ils soient québecois(au vendanges surtout, haha!) ou d'un quelconque autre pays, parlant une quelconque autre langue.

Tant de souvenirs,
envahissent mon esprit,

Where the road starts....

Afetr been working for a whole year, sacrificing family time and my own, the time has come to make a stop at my vacations. Every year, I look for something to make my family remember when we are on vacations.

On Saturday I leave for Croatia. Wow. I thought I had all the time in the world, and now, I don't. I'm trying to squeeze in a day trip to Zurich on Wednesday, but then my time is over in the Schenegen zone. But, I still have 1.5 months left in Europe!
And that has kind of been my life for the last two weeks... until I went to Portugal (see next blog)

Geneva: Why Did I Bother Unpacking?

After fall break, my body basically decided that it had had enough. Perhaps it was an allergic reaction to sketching, perhaps an acquired aversion to hostels, who knows. So what did I have planned for that following weekend? Relax, have some soup, and sleep to recover? Of course not, this is me we're talking about. I was all booked to travel again to Geneva, Switzerland. I must say, at the beginning of the year, it sounded like a great idea. We ...

That's about it

We sadly left Chamonix and vowed to return there in the winter, and drove to Annecy. Annecy was kind of a repeat of Prague, beautiful old city, on the water, with canals... we were kind of sick of that scene by then. They are applying to have the 2018 Olympics there, with the ski events at Mont Blanc. It would be a nice venue for sure.

Severe Illness

... my sentences. He agreed to meet me at the train station in Zurich. I asked to go directly to a hospital at that point. I was in the middle of a three hour train ride from Geneva to Zurich, violently ill, afraid and alone. I still could not stand at that point, so I sat on the lid of the toilet fighting the severe stomach cramps. That hour and a half really made me rethink these international plans and realize that having a social network is so ...

... wines (do you know that there are apparently > 30,000 different wines in France - never a hope), headed to Pont du Gard. This UNESCO World Heritage site is part of what was previously a 50km long water supply canal and aqueduct system used to carry water from ~Uzès to Nîmes. Three levels to this very impressive aqueduct. Would have carried 20,000 cubic metres of water/day! Then hit the A9 motorway and headed to Montpellier and Béziers. Now we ...
