Back on the train for a 2:45 hour trip to Salzburg..approx 290 kms south/ west of Vienna..thank heavens for the heated compartments again as the temp dropped to minus seven! Zoutwinning is belangrijk in deze omgeving. Het is ook niet voor niets dat de naam Salzburg daar uit afstamt. De oorspronkelijk mijnen liggen op het grondgebied Hallein beter op de berg Bad Dürrnberg.
