We started with a walking tour of Viviers, a village of about 5000 people. Narrow streets, old buildings, the church dating back to the 14(?) century. The walk spiralled up to the cathedral, which is the smallest one in France. Here, we were treated to an organ recital in the cathedral-what beautiful acoustics!

We'd come to Castellene because this was the starting point of the Gorge du Verdon, the deepest canyon in France.
