    ... sure, there are plenty of little villages & hamlets further north) for about 2 hours. We walked up to the top of a hill for a great view, then dropped into a polar bear research society display in the tourist centre. This town was completely annihilated by the Nazis in 1944, then rebuilt. Cruising along the coastline was lovely - plenty of mountains, fjords, islands ...

    ... out the amazing peaks that surrounded us.

    We found ourselves about 70km north of Solvaer where we found a pretty little beach that looked out across a fjord, across some lovely turquoise waters, to some snow shrouded peaks beyond. It was quite beautiful.

    The weather then closed in on us, and the snow started to fall. As pretty as it was, it did not make for good photography.

    ... I was terrified and they definitely creeped me out! There was also paintings which hitler himself had done- mostly of Disney characters ?!     It's been a long while since I've written a blog- over a year I think but thought these next few weeks will be worthy of some online gloating so decided to get back into it! But first things first a quick review of this year, tai has been studying and completed the first year of his course- he's had his tutors ask to publish some of his essays and is aceing everything he hands in- I couldn't be prouder!     ... naively, that people in Norway were going to be so helpful, cheery, blonde hair, blue eyed, super enthusiastic about this young Canadian girl just trying to make it in this world .. nope.
