... and so I simply sat at the speed limit of 90kph all the way. Finally its into the mountains and before long every river and lake is frozen solid. We have entered a wonderful National Park and the scenery soon becomes really beautiful. On this route the railway runs alongside the road the entire way to Narvik and I caught up with a coal train just before the mountains and so took a number of shots of it heading up the pass and through the snow mountains. ...

... hardy bunch, telling us how they climb and ski uphill, then take the "skins" off their skis so that they can ski back down. I guess it's little different to surfing, though: we paddle out to sea so that we can get back to the shore. All the fun in it is between leaving your starting point and getting back to it.

So it was with us, too. We went out from the rorbuer, took our travellers' quota of photos for the day, and came back to the rorbuer ... and enjoyed every minute ...

... of the time I fell down the side of the rock around 2-3m onto another rock and in the process of trying to break my fall with my right hand a managed to rip open and extend the 2 cuts I already had from the climb up.

My ass and hand were now absolutely killing me and as I sat in the snow for around 10mins with my hand throbbing and letting blood out at a steady rate I bit the bullet and took off one of my t-shirts to wrap my hand. I quite a lot ...
