CRUISING DAY - Main-Danube Canal / Bamberg
Plan B came into operation last night as the first lock out of Nuremberg was broken and we could not cruise ahead to Bamberg overnight as planned.

We berthed in Nuremberg - 2nd largest city in Bavaria at 11:00 am with snow falling.
Nuremberg is overlooked by a large castle (burg) built in the 11th Century and the cities medieval walls were completed in 1452 with a total of 126 towers along its perimeter.

... better. Just as we entered, the entire mass started singing with the organ. We were on the side of the church, so a large portion of it was out of sight. Eventually the choir (that we couldn't see) joined the people in song and it sounded like angels were singing. We literally thought it couldn't get any better. ... than people! How great is that! Plastic grocery bags seem almost non existent here. Everyone brings their own reusable bags to the store. And, if they don't, they get to pay for a bag. There seems to be a lot of resistance to this concert in certain parts of the U.S., especially where we live in Texas. Reusable bags are sturdier, easier to carry, hurt you hands less, AND don't require us to put millions of pounds of plastic in landfills every year. Win, win, ...
