Our time in Italy is coming to an end. We reluctantly left the Lake Como area and an hour later our train pulls in to Milan - our final Italian City.

We had a relatively quiet start to this morning as our walking tour did not start until 10.30. This gave us time to shower, pack, breakfast, vibes mums ( mum S was not answering) and Bethany. It is lovely to hear some news from home. We arrived punctually as that's how we roll and the guide did not turn up. A few others were there waiting as well. We gave up and decided to do it ourselves as we really only have a short time until the train leaves at 2 .05 pm. We went to ...
... it, so they recommended a cafe further along the lakeside. 20 minutes walk later, we were sitting there, drinking our coffees and cokes, and watching the swans and ducks on the lake. A short walk further to the next ferry stop - and the heavens opened again, only this time it was torrential. Once on the ferry we could barely see the shore!
Getting back to Como was stopped at a restaurant / gelaterie for a lovely lunch, and by 2:30 we were in the car ready to start the ...

We reached Como at about 5pm, and checked into our hotel. That left us time to walk down to the quay, have a drink at a cafe popular with the local sparrows, and wend our way to a delightful restaurant round the corner from the hotel. This morning we set off together on the Metro but, while John continued to the Conference Centre, I got off earlier to visit the Brera Gallery and the Castello Sforzesco Fontana.
