... was outrageous, sooooo many trucks and of course everything travelling very quickly. It was most tiring for John as the driver. The closer we got to Milan the worse it got, anyway, we survived. Luckily the road basically bypasses Milan and we were soon in Como.
Well a shock we got! The lake is pretty but Como is a huge suburb of Milan really. In fact most of the lake has housing surrounding it, albeit rather flash housing :-). Arrived at ...

Leaving Milano, we started the day with Bergamo which is an ancient town about 40 km east of Milan we've been hearing a lot about. I have to admit that it wasn't as great as I thought it would be. Maybe it's just me setting my expectation too high.

Once at the airport, we sat there for over an hour with nothing to do because apparently nothing in the Valencia airport is open that early. We hopped on a Ryanair flight and we were off. We arrived at the Milan Bergamo airport at around 8:30. We met a nice lady at the tourist desk who helped us ...

... walked as though we wore matching track suits. We HUSTLED. And lo and behold, we made it to the train station five minutes before my train was due to depart, and just in time to find the platform. I boarded the train, and Em waved me off, and I pulled out of the station back into the world of castle-counting and Ethics homework. An hour later, Em was Florence-bound. Four hours later, I arrived in Geneva. And about sixteen hours after that, I began to consider eating the second half of that pizza.

... and ancient ruins, it starts to look alike unless you are a super roman historian. We were at an overload point after two weeks of history. We then took a really fast train to Milan. 200 mph I think. First time for me to go that fast. Then a man helped us find the short train to the airport and then the hotel shuttle picked us up. I was worried about all those connections. We then prepared to get up at 4:30 to ...
