... the outside of the van a fairly good clean and are now planning to catch a bus into Calais this afternoon for a final Moules meal :0) 21st July. We say goodbye to France and after a 90 minute crossing followed by a two hour drive we finally arrived home. Our travels have lasted 113 days, we have seen some amazing places, met some lovely people and with thanks to God have lived our dream. ... which sounds posh except, it was in a motorway service area! We couldn’t have got nearer to Monte Carlo anyway, as it is the Grand Prix this weekend.

Arrived at Pip at, more or less, the same time as Roy & Judy who were as tired as we were as they, like us, had been up since 4 am. Meal & bed - we all slept well.

I had my own room at the hostel in Calais for a cheap $37/night. I didn't see much in Calais the first night, but I went out Sunday for a walk about town. Apparently the French do not work on Sundays, so the umbrella and the trash bags I needed for waterproofing had to wait until Monday.

In the park downtown, there is an old German bunker from WWII that has been turned into a museum. It only cost 6 euros to go in, and they had a variety of things ...
