... shopping in the village shop "Der Laden" and then going out to dinner. Main meal was in Minamoto - Japanese restaurant in Hotel Royal - and desert in Hotel Restaurant Waldhaus.

Back home to catch up with e-mails before retiring to bed.

Very nice

Weather changed dramatically with rain, rain, rain and lower temperatures (Schneegrenze auf etwa 2000m sinkend!) should get a bit better by the weekend.

Pascal drove us with our car to Zuerich airport, picking us up around 6pm after a days work in and around the house and last minute travel preparations. ... and Nevere. There, now I know where we have been and where we are - in the Jura as of today.

However to backtrack, we have spent a fair bit of time in the Doubs, following the Doubs River and the Canal de Rhone au Rhine. The Doubs has its source in the Jura Mountains and is a tributary of the Saône.

By mid-afternoon, we found a really nice campsite just on the other side of the canal from the town of Baume-Les-Dames. It seemed to be part of a whole complex with a Halte Nautique (a marina) and restaurant/bar up the road. Cold beer was calling before we set up camp and we ended up sitting with a whole group of New Zealanders ...
