On my last evening in Saumur I ended up socialising at a couple of other motorhomes and didn't get back to my van until around midnight. ... done! I had a Post office Travel Card which I loaded with Euro's prior to leaving and this could be used to get cash or pay for items like a switch card. I had twice tried to pay for fuel with it but it was declined. I subsequently located a cash point and it worked - will be calling them when I get back.

... br> It was a major submarine base during WW2 built by the Germans, in the an enormous and imposing concrete bunker.



Opposite the bunker was a fairly new cinema - so that worked out well....

There is a trail you follow and it is a green line that takes you all over the place and we laughed at how the guy who painted it must have had some fun.
