There have been a number of deaths during our cruise and at various ports passengers have been taken off and taken to hospital but this was the first time that we had actually diverted from our course and called into an unscheduled port. We only remained in Santa Cruise for about one and a half hours before the ship departed and continued on its way to ...

Lots more to come and of course the pictures will be later when we have more computer time available. We have 6 days at sea now until we reach Barbados. We intend to enjoy the ship and all it has to offer. Colin is enjoying the lectures and I'm enjoying my Keep Fit and Art sessions and together we enjoy relaxing on deck listening to music and reading in the sunshine. It is a lovely cruise and we would recommend it highly.

On the 10th of November we crossed the equator - MSC had a Baptism by Neptune cermony to mark the occasion which involved having a ladle of water poured on your head and then kissing an octupus. I just watched ;)

... damn good for a commercial port, at least we didnt see rats the size of dogs like in Manaus. We have now cast off the lines, hopefully with all the crew back on board, and are heading north, north eastish, to the rock, Gibraltar, apparently another 6 days, i guess we are about halfway back to Marseille now. Fingers crossed the sea will be ok till gib, then just the gulf of Leon to get passed. that usually gives you a good whacking, hmm cant wait.
