... I came prepared with gloves, woollen jumpers and scarves. Seemed to keep humming "Small World" for no good reason that we could think of (?).

After exiting the cave we took the cable car to the top of the Abyss to the top viewing area, enjoyed lunch at the café, then walked down to a lower viewing area and finally back to the road train. After connecting with the train back to Brno we arrived home after ...

And now for something completely different?

... We had a local beer and glass of Moravian Rose at a bar downstairs from our apartment, and accompanying it we enjoyed some local delicacies, sausage with mustard and horseradish and Omouloc aged cheese from a small town about 50km from here.

Another world cup match - semi final's thank goodness - just two more matches to go. Congratulations to Germany on last night's demolition job on Brazil....

... bells an hour early at 11am and the Swedish army missed the trick and spared Brno (or so the story goes).

We sat inside and admired the church. It had 7 beautiful stained glass windows, but you can only see 3 from the pews. On our way back, we wandered through the Denis Gardens and Fortification wall circuit. This is a very lively young town with 80,000 students (out of a population of 400,000) attending various universities here.

More rain today, took the A roads to try and get some better riding. However the rain combined with the traffic made it a bit of a chore.....so spending all day struggling to find any enjoyment and all nights talking to myself makes for a very depressed ...

... effective but sometimes the eye sees more than the lens - or at least differently. At any rate I also spent a few moments out of the light rain at a sidewalk cafe in Freedom Square. A distinctive building on the square was one of the first in central Europe to utilize wrought iron. The balconys and details were especially well detailed as the owner of the building also owned the local ironworks. Good marketing!
