Today we had an early start . We docked at Chania and very quickly boarded our bus to The Palace of Knossos, the home of the legendary Minotaur. Finally it was a walk east around the coast to Elafonisi. It was meant to take 5-6 hours. Well 9 hours later, with a very swollen and sore ankle, I made it. Moved a little further west – 60km- to Chania. Yet another Venetian port and another "old town". Once again a pretty old town with lots of narrow alleyways, cafes and tourist shops. But nice.
Went to visit the war museum one day but closed due to renovations. Then out to Souda Bay to have a look at the bay that General Freyberg thought he had to defend rather than the airport at Malame. And ...

I headed out anyway, and took more of my time getting to Falasarna. These waters are the most gorgeous shades of blue. The sun is shining and the sands are scorching.
I don't know where I'm going next, and I don't care. Probably explore the west coast some and retire in Chania. My Zune has enough battery for one more hour. Time to make it count.
