This was our first sea day together, I love the rhythm of sea days, Dennis is learning to adjust. Dvc members meeting at 9am. Didn't win anything, they were quite stingy with the drinks, ie one apiece. Seriously if you want me to believe that points are a good deal at $165 each, you're going to have to work harder at getting me tipsy. Anyone Can Cook, lobster ravioli and another glass of wine. Dennis quite liked that. Then we were off to a seminar given by ...

    ... a cup of coffee.

We were up bright and early for us, and managed to catch the 10am ferry the next day. As it was still reasonably early, we headed straight for the Palace, thinking we had a chance of avoiding any large tour groups. During my various justifications offered to ...

... the bits that I engaged with the most were Imola race track and Ferrari Museum which both had a personal meaning to me, along with Venice. There's a whole load of Italy that I haven't seen and that I'll have to see at a later date when I've got my own car and not relying on public transport, but to me it's all about Venice.

Without giving it a great deal of conscious thought I'm gradually compiling a few lists in my head, rating different destinations ...

    ... our cheeriness!

A slow start the next day had us fighting the masses of tour groups that had descended into town from the cruise ships that dock daily, to see the sights. The Rialto Bridge, il Duomo, and St. Marco's Square provided us with enough culture before heading off down the many alleyways to shop and soak up the atmosphere of Venice.

The obligatory coffee and gelato at one of the restaurants in St Marco ...
