Arrived on time and bought a Dutch sim card for my phone. I'll be here for a while and lots of people to contact and it will be handy for transport apps to have a bit of data too. Then off to get a transport card for travelling on the trains and maybe buses too.

I found the right train with one change at Zwolle and then Rosa met me at Groningen train station.

It is great to be here and it is sunny and warm!

Me, Tamara, Carmen, and their grandma spent the past week in Langeoog. It is pretty small island, but it has been so much fun. The island doesn't allow cars so we have to bike everywhere, and it is honestly a nice change. It's very peaceful here and the beach is so beautiful. Because it has always been an important sea port ,70 years ago during World War 2, Emden was flattened by Allied ...

If you haven’t been here, Rothenburg odT (as it is called because the full name is too long!) is the home of Käthe Wohlfahrt (, which is the original year-round Christmas Store and also the German Christmas Museum! And unlike other Christmas shops, it manages to look the part at any time of the year – MJ has seen it in April and August, as well as December, and she says that there is no difference, except the ...

Well we have now been cycling for about 350km over 6 days and today was somewhat more relaxed for some of us. Greg and a couple of others of course can't help themselves and went off on a 65 km round trip. The 2 nd and 3 rd days were the hardest, windy and a bit wet, but since then, really lovely. Light winds and fine. We ...
