... the Galleries Lafayette home and food hall, which was really busy. We looked for other shops but of course it is Monday – so not many were open. Never mind – Italy is much better for shopping. For the first time ever we have also noticed the less than friendly attitude of just some Parisians. ... and I did a lot of research as to what was the best club in Paris. I ended up taking a taxi to a club named Rex Club, Paris, 15 Euros entry. Drinks were expensive. Music was okay but in general I enjoyed it for the experience. Once your in the club you can't get out, so to go for a cigarette there was a small room at the back of the club with no windows or ventilation and everyone is in there smoking. The french were lively and found ...
... feces and ancient urine (and a whiff maybe of dead animal). Whatever it was - it was not charming, or French it was just 'get a grip Parisian officials and spend some tourist cash on your disgusting train service. No excuse for a 'first world' city. As an example of how out of date it was...the french ticket vendor person was surprised and delighted by my use of a 'tablet' for maps. Really??

Today we caught up on unfinished buisness from our last visit to Paris in the French Spring of 1999. It was our last day before leaving for England and Jenny had her heart sent on visiting Giverny to see Monet's chateau and gardens. We missed the train by just a few minutes and finished up seeing Napoleons Palace instead. It's Jenny's birthday this Wednesday and we had planned to visit Giverny on her birthday. But as luck would have it, the weather forecast was not looking good ...
