... does have similar biosecurity controls to those of New Zealand, but there are X-ray machines and dogs to do the searching. We should be thankful I suppose for waiting inside the warm, comfy bus watching a movie instead of being out in the cold...there is a ski resort next to the border which only closed a few weeks ago.

... never ever ends!
Still it's hard to complain when I get to ride over the hills at sunset with stunning coastal views. I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing how the farm house glows at around 19.30 every evening but always in a slightly different way. The Chilean night sky is luminous with stars on a clear night and silly as it sounds one of my favourite things is to watch Ivan ride over the hill tops back to his tin house after a days work.

It took around an hour by bus to get down there, and we weren't even sure if they would let us in as it is a hotel complex, but we took our chances as we may not be here again.
