... as it did us! But it's not everyday you come to Paris, and there is so much to cram in! Fortunately we did two things right.
1. We had a very central apartment...2 minute walk to the Tuileries Gardens, 12 mins from the Louvre, 15 mins from Museč D'Orsay, and a 3 minute walk to the metro station to access all the other sites. This meant we could "go home" throughout the day if we needed to, which we duly did.
2. We pre purchased a 4 ...
... potato, bread and lots of sauce. (No greens!) It was amazing. Ron was on his second glass of wine, so we thought we'd ask to see the dessert menu. A couple of minutes passed and a tray of 8 great big desserts was plonked on the table. We got up on time this morning and got breakfast from the local bakery. We rode the metro to the Notre Dame stop and came out right in front of the famous church. Our goal for this morning was to climb the church tower--about 400 steps. It wasn't as bad as I thought. ... filled crepes, rode the carousel right next to it, watched it light up at 9pm sharp. (Apparently it lights up every hour on the hour… I felt a little betrayed when I found this out since no one in my life has ever felt the need to tell me this!), and danced underneath the sparkling tower at midnight to Frank Sinatra. Super casual.

Versailles is a suburb which is about 35 minutes train ride from Paris. I get the feel it's a tiny bit like the Melbourne/Sydney rivalry thing.
