    ... water. The boats on the lake are all electric to preserve the cleanliness and peacefulness of the area. At one point on the trip the guide gets his trumpet out, and plays a tune next to the cliffside called the Echowand, and depending on the weather the notes echo one or two times - all very funky ...

    ... out of him at one stage.... even though he reckoned he didn't know the lyrics :) It was a fun tour - Wends and Lisa - you would have loved it ! and I'm sure you would have done yourselves proud during the sing-a-long bits - we were thinking about you :) Hope some of you die hard Julie Andrews fans recognise a few of the locations in the photos.... enjoy.... I'm off to watch the film again to spot some of the shots :) ...

    Today we headed back to the Berchtesgaden area and went to see the Obersalzberg documentation museum. We had passed this yesterday but it was shut so we knew roughly what to expect. The museum documents the rise of Hitler, his beliefs and the Nazi regime.     ... and I was truly getting soaked... Thankfully I got re-mapped and rerouted myself back in the right direction. I might have popped in somewhere to stay dry like any sensible person - but I chose to forge on and wend my way back. Wend my way back I did, and by the time I returned, I was literally soaked to the bone. My rainjacket was useless, my travel purse let in all the wet. All. Very. Wet. The picture of my journal is a reminder to me why I want to go digital. :) ...

    ... at the "Alter Fuchs." The food was great and I drank my second Radler. I ordered ragout and Joan had pumpkin soup. The food here was SO good. I forgot to take pictures of our food.
