      ... dishes were bratwurst and schnitzel, but enjoyed lunch outside in the snow with some great music then hit the slopes non stop until 4pm when the lift closed -enjoyed a beer in the adorable ski town before catching the 5pm train back to St. Gallen. I would definitely go back here!

      ... the church was spectacular - every walkway was framed with beautiful and fragrant flowers and intricate signs. The church catacombs offered a fun break from the beauty as we climbed through narrow passageways and old staircases.

      ... I made my way down and finally heard it. The hills really are alive with music! As I made my way back towards the church I discovered that they were streaming a live performance from the Salzburg Festival!!! This is why I came to Salzburg! It was literally perfect to rest and enjoy this beautiful music in the open air, literally like a fairy tale :-)

      I checked the schedule and there are performances the next two nights also - yay!

We then walked up to Hohensalzburg Fortress which was quite the trek but gave us a fabulous view of Salzburg city and the surrounding snow topped mountains. Whilst exploring we also managed to take a peek at the Nonnburg Convent which is the convent used for the SOM movie.
