... Oranje. It was a fabulous treat, especially after how sore my body has been lately. Although they put us in separate rooms for our massages, I really enjoyed myself! Andy asked his masseur why they separated us, and he informed him that it was so we could relax a bit more and enjoy our massages, so we wouldn't be worried with trying to talk to each other. ... winter time. Amsterdam is known for lots of things; canals, tulips, cheese, legal prostitution and legal marijuana and the city itself is all of that mixed together in a strange, romantic, relaxed kind of way. It really is a pretty amazing place to visit. The people are friendly, the museums are amazing and the canals provide a beautiful backdrop to a city of great diversity. From floating flower markets to Van Gogh's museum ...

... is something I found really confronting, despite the fact that I've seen a few similar places in other countries. Essentially this area is a tourist attraction, however it is so demeaning to the women who work there. Everywhere we looked there are see-through rooms (big enough to fit a single bed) lit up in red light and in each room were women in lingerie (sometimes not wearing anything) trying to seduce any person that walks past. The age range varied from roughly ...
