... No kitchen. No facilities. 40€ Per night.ok value - clean and just few yrs old. Town has closed up out of season feel. Sea rough and lots debris on shore- obviously had big storm recently. Lunch at local bar - focaccia and tomato salad - pretty ordinary but what do we expect from a bar on seafront in tourist town. We met some lovely people from Ireland on the ferry, who have a villa right near Nice, and they invite us to visit them next year, with promises of great times either in France or Ireland. The walk up to the castle is worth every step, as is the cafe at the top. Castello Brown ...

... and Roy - very interesting people with good sense of humour and an interesting story to tell. Farmers and also butcher shop proprietors selling their own produce. Can't stay in Genoa and not have a look around so I brave the rain (Cath stays behind) and take a walk through the city streets down to Old Town. Genoa, reputedly the birthplace of Christopher Columbus (and Pesto!) pop 615,000 - 2004 European capital of Culture and the host of 1992 Expo (the one after Brisbane) The ...
