Giacomo's Milano

A travel blog entry by aurisch

... by Napoleon. Today the golden Madonna on the roof has to be the highest point in the city. To overcome the limitations this places on new buildings, anything higher has a replica of her on their roof.
The terraces are full of ornate statues and buttresses, all built purely with the intention that only god would ever really see them. Artisans donated their time through the centuries to contribute to the Duomo, there is even a Michelangelo amongst the ...

Monterosso on Cinque Terre via Milan and Genova

A travel blog entry by wendyandjohn

... car drivers to drive. Luckily he drove well as once we left the autostrada, it was very, very windy to get to our hotel. Also Wendy is probably almost cured of her fear of tunnels as we lost count of how many we went through in the almost 90 minutes it took to get to Monterosso. The shoes here seem to be very, ...

A travel blog entry by sasha.jentley

... started. I wondered how they could've gotten so behind! The guy who did the talk on hypnosis had a long presentation and question time and mom didn't get up until 3:50pm! Because of that, she had to rush through her presentation and they even cut her off with one slide to go! Each presenter was supposed to have 15 minutes and they cut her off around 10 minutes! It was ridiculous and really badly moderated, and of ...
