This hotel has a retro-feeling. Rooms are very spacious and have stunning views over the mountains. Breakfast are buffet style and very good. Service also very good. Undercover parking available. Burgerbad baths are walking distance from the hotel.

Got up bright and early this morning to get to Lauterbrunnen. The 2 hour train ride flew by as the scenery was out of this world. This place definitely did not disappoint. Hard to believe such a place exists, I didn't know which way to look! Went for a short walk before deciding I needed a feed! Supermarket was shut so the first cafe I saw was it... chicken burger and chips ...

Today was an early start. I got up at 7am, walked over to the shower block and as i had forgotten any money, i ended up having a quick cold shower – not very fun. I dressed, had breakfast in the meal tent and got ready for the day. First thing to do today was a helicopter ride. A group of us walked from the camp area to the helicopter office, about a 5 minute walk down the street, after filling in some forms we were driven to the helicopter field, about a 3 minute drive from ...

... called off because of too much wind. Spewing! So instead we went for a walk that the reception guy recommended, through town and then up a big hill, to a bit of a look-out over the valley. It was beautiful. We took a lot of photos before walking back down for a defrosting cup of tea. I invited Nat and Danny out for dinner with us that night, because they'd been such good value. We got lost looking for our chosen restaurant, but eventually found it and ...

Day 23 - Leaving Italy, Plane/Train to Switzerland

Goodbye Italy! We were so sad to say goodbye to the Meyers this morning, but we're thankful for the 3 weeks we got to travel with them. The kids wanted one last gelato at their favorite gelato place before we headed to the Fiumicino Airport to catch our EasyJet flight to Basel, Switzerland. We decided to take a taxi to the airport to simplify everything and it was worth it for the door-to-door service. We flew EasyJet, a budget European airline, and it was very ...
