... takes us over the road to place to educate us in the Italian way of ordering a drink at dinner time and getting a feed off the bar from the beautiful finger food they have kindly put out for you while you eat. Calamari, olives, breads, pastas and much more. It is amazing that this array of food is put out for anyone who is drinking. While being polite with Jenn and Don as the dinner the girls have prepared is waiting for us, we head home to enjoy a night of good food and ...

      What A Night!

A travel blog entry by travellinghutch on Nov 05, 2014

Now where are all my party people?! In the city of Milan, Italy, the night does not begin
until about 1 am. Back in Canada if someone is awake later than
midnight, it is likely they are either in bed watching a movie with a
bag of chips or bowl of ice cream (all you ladies, you know what i am
talking about. We have alllll been there so please save the trouble
of denying it!), or selling drugs in dark ...

I am not sure if it is
just the people I have met so far or if it is a cultural thing or

in Italian and I respond with “I'm sorry, English.”, they give
you this eye rolling look and say “oooooooooooooh.....
(pause)...... English...” as if they just heard about their
neighbours dog being struck by a flying UFO. These reactions come
      from about 65% of ...

      ... loved this city.

I arrived at possibly the most beautiful train station in the world, where I met Cristina before heading to her place.

One of the things I loved most about Milan was the graffiti and Street art. There is a lot of bad graffiti around the city, adding to the grungy feel I loved so much, but if you keep your eyes open you will spot some masterpieces waiting to ...

Off to Milan, or the Lakes????

... flew through in about 2 cars!!! Varese is a small town, with a small lake and an international rowing regatta. No rooms in town at all. Had lunch in a lovely cafe and drove to see the lake. Couldn't really find a place to park, but managed to see some of the boats. Found a hotel in Gallarate that looked like a good place to train to Milan tomorrow.  Kind of a dumpy hotel, but everything was booked.  ...
