    ... so we jumped on the train, after proudly purchasing tickets with no help from locals. A couple of stops later we decide which exit to leave the station by... and OMG - we walk up these steps and there looming in front is the Duomo itself. No words here. Just magnificent.

    And then we are accosted by about 30 people trying to sell selfie sticks, good luck bracelets, scarves,... the sellers are everywhere, they are persistent, and actually a little but ...

    ... and maybe a couple of other smaller vessels. Maybe it gets busier in summer proper? In any case, it felt kind of surreal to be on the water, in Italy, watching the world go by. Loved it.

    And then we disembarked again at Bellagio and spent a pleasant couple of hours walking around the little shops. They were selling jewellery, silk scarves, ties, touristy stuff, lots of high end clothing and locally grown wines. Shops and cafes seemed to spring up from every crevice - up ...

    Apart from eating non-stop, we did have a lot of learning because we met many stakeholders who gave us a deep guide to BCD travel and its functions.     ... flew through in about 2 cars!!! Varese is a small town, with a small lake and an international rowing regatta. No rooms in town at all. Had lunch in a lovely cafe and drove to see the lake. Couldn't really find a place to park, but managed to see some of the boats. Found a hotel in Gallarate that looked like a good place to train to Milan tomorrow.  Kind of a dumpy hotel, but everything was booked.  ...
