... lo and behold, we were in the tiny village of Skalni Mlyn, full of hundreds of day trippers out to visit the nearby famous Punkva caves, and eat ice cream!! These caves are part of the Moravian Karst (limestone) system in the Central Czech Republic, a large heritage protected area. The limestone cliffs each side were massive, but we could only just see them as they are covered in what looks like temperate ...

... the reception area is in the inner courtyard in the middle of the building but there is a domed glass roof over what would have been open to the elements! The lifts are on the outside of the building, they are all glass & steel, Lana was a bit queasy going up in it and looking out into nothing!! Went for a wander through the centre of Brno which is only a rats throw from our luxurious Barcelo Brno Palace ...

... meals. We finished up with a local red wine which was also 1st class, equal of a $30 red back home! This hotel is relatively new and quite flash, our bedroom is huge by normal standards. They all speak English, to some degree, but with a helluva accent which is hard to understand not like Hungary where there language makes understanding their English so much easier. But this is an adventure and one has to be prepared for all ...

... I came prepared with gloves, woollen jumpers and scarves. Seemed to keep humming "Small World" for no good reason that we could think of (?).

After exiting the cave we took the cable car to the top of the Abyss to the top viewing area, enjoyed lunch at the café, then walked down to a lower viewing area and finally back to the road train. After connecting with the train back to Brno we arrived home after ...
