... was teaming with millions of kids so we chose beach and found a quiet spot under trees for some shade. It was already 30 degrees so we hunted down the sea for a cool off and once again the beaches were packed and not just for 500 meters but for 10 km. ... cyclists were prohibited. Anyway we made it , and tomorrow we continue down the coast of the Med to Girona. Should be very pretty. Forgot to mention that Mesfin went astray today, with no cell phone or maps. He did have my home phone number and called Chris, who gave him the cords of our hotel. He was in the tourism office in. Town not far from here. That office then called booking.com who in turn sent us an e mail. Pretty good service. He was back with us shortly thereafter. ...

... grab a bite. We then climbed the next two cols at 1099m and 1256m. At the bottom of those cols, Steve and Gilles decided that they had expended their gas tanks, so I went on to do the Col de Jau myself. I made it to the top at 5:30 and had a nice run out to Prades. We had a dinner in a local pizza place which was excellent. I was so tired I could hardly see, and I do not think I was the only one.
