... relatively new archeological dig on the side of the road. It's amazing. Everywhere you turn there's another piece of history unfolding. We decide to attend the museum of archeology. . It's rumoured to have some of the best preserved Minoan artifacts. They got more than enough. Gold jewelry, tools, lamps, toys, figurines - and clay pots big enough to bury everything And apparently you CAN "take it with you". Some guy's sarcophagus contained two ...

We navigated ourselves down to the port area of Heraklion where we found a cafe open for brekky. Mel had her traditional luke warm waffle while Ali had a bacon and egg brekky that came with pancakes and a nice orange cake (reminded Ali of something Nan used to make). Ali walked down to the old fort on the port to ...

Bali - The View!

... helped to make it an enjoyable stay :) Taking a trip to Rethymnon was enjoyable and has a traditional feel to it while still having plenty of modern shops and nightlife surrounding a lovely port area. I enjoyed a wee train tour around the city which was enducational. Would probably not return to Bali as it was very quiet, however I would like to experience Rethymnon again at some point. Nice to experience the west of crete and overall appears to be a very liveable ...
