Dolomites to Paris

A travel blog entry by jtate on Jan 21, 2015

Today we woke early to have breakfast before our taxi came to take us to the train station. We were running a tad late due to the overly relaxed concierge and when we arrived at the station were in trouble for being only 2 mins early for the bus. To add to the pressure we had to pay the taxi driver the fee of €25 which would have been fine if we had the cash or had time to go to the ATM. The Dolomites Day 2

Today we woke up sore and stiff from the previous day's workout. We had breakfast then geared up for the day of snow sports. Today we made sure to stick to blue runs so no more incidents like that of yesterday's. We did a few runs near the hotel before plotting a course to the top of the mountain - Tofana. We had a few emotional moments of being stuck on the mountain, not being able to go back up or down. After ...

... this first before doing the bog laps! Anyway I went across and noticed that they were closed until 5pm. The exact time our bus to the accommodation was supposed to leave. I had also read online that taxis here were really expensive but it was looking like we weren't going to have much choice to get to our accommodation except by a taxi. 5pm rolled around and we ducked into the ski office thinking it would be a case ...

When in Rome

... come alive with these ancient structures - they are living, breathing and are now integrated into our modern world. It really is magic. The Catholic Church's presence in this city was another slice of magic. As you know I have no religious ties but I could not keep away from the beautiful churches which were around every bend. It was like walking into a free museum every 5mins...and then there was the Vatican. My fellow Roman tourists were also very friendly. ...
