... hours there and the kids hardly moan, apart from being tired. The paintings are beautiful, the history is interesting and you get a feel for how the kings lived. The Hermitage does bring to life St Petersburg. What a museum and palace! We get out of the city to visit the gardens of Peterhof palace. The palace is closed on Mondays. There's a pattern here. ... meant a late arrival at the hotel. It was a rushed meal – but a welcome one - before leaving for the Russian Folklore show. The dancing and the costumes were spectacular. It was a travel weary bunch of stragglers that got home about 10.30ish but the drive through the city in the semi daylight was an interesting one.
