Today Sheila and I traveled to Crested Butte, Colorado. While in Crested Butte, we did some shopping and had lunch. There were a lot of sales going on. I got a nice sweatshirt for $20. After shopping, we headed to Mount Crested Butte. Again, we arrived early. The ski lifts to take you to the top of the mountain don't open until this weekend. So instead we took a drive to Gothic Natural Area north of Crested ...

After our tour it was time to hit the town with a dinner at Buddy V's aka The Cake Boss' Italian restaurant which was organised by Nathan and Mark for Billy. Billy said he had the best Chicken Parma he has ever had...which is a big call but deserved as the food and service was amazing!! They even brought out a special Italian birthday cake with 'Happy ...

... and although he finished the first run it was not in the top 30 times so therefore not quick enough to qualify him for the second run. We spoke to his parents after the race and they were delighted that he completed the course. He is a young developing skier aiming for the 2018 Winter Olympics and whose best results still await him.

There was also a French skier racing today, Thomas Mermillod-Blondin. Stephen worked with his ...
