Time to escape the heat in the fantastic modern Acropolis Museum. The museum includes glass floors so you can view digs. The exhibition concentrates on the Acropolis of the 5th Century BC, considered the apotheosis of Greek artistic achievements. The 2nd floor restaurant in air ...
... twice (sorry Paige!), we made it to our hostel. Paige must think I'm loony. And blonde. I swear I unemployment is dumbing me down!! We met some new friends who we partied with last night. Ouzo? Strong. Very strong. I was drunk after one shot. You sip shots over here not actually shot them !! So last night we partied and got back in at stupid O clock. I was not feeling well this morning. Ah well, on to Day 2!! ...
... have missed the Acropolis with the Parthenon and Temples.. they were HUGE. The marble steps were treacherous so we were very careful. Went to highest point of Athens, were head on to big Merc and had to back right up the road was so narrow... never again complain of parking in Aus.
... for breakfast that the Jason has for breakfast. We walked about 15 minutes uphill to the Acropolis. We saw the theater located just beneath and continued our hike up the rock on which it is located. We had a good view of the Temple of Nike and viewed the different kinds of columns in the entrance building, the Propylaia. We made the climb through the entrance and into the Acropolis where we could see the Parthenon. There is so much construction going on within the building ...
