At times there must have been over 200 actors on stage and there were at least 7 or 8 horses that made their appearance. In the afternoon we decide to go on a tour of the Villa Serbelloni Park which is now controlled by the Rockefeller Foundation of New York. Just a quiet walk through a park offering spectacular views at every corner, not to mention that it is 3 kms on a gravel path, uphill all the ...

    ... local atmosphere.”

All is forgiven when we walk out on to the rooftop terrace of Casa Stacy. The views of Lake Como are indeed amazing. Just then, the bell of the church next door starts to chime. “No problem. It only chimes on the hour and the half hour.” As I write this, the party is warming up downstairs. Someone has found a huge bass drum. The bells are chiming but – we have a lovely ...
