We went back for the breakfast by 8am. There was the usual fish, rice with nori (seaweed), pickles, egg custard, miso soup and a few rather unrecognisable items. One looked like raw liver but it turned out to be sour plum.

... wrong side of the train from the best views so couldn't film it. Matsumoto is famous in japan for its castle and as people who have travelled with me before know, I like castles! ... Castle too early (opened at 8.30). Museum first and then the castle. Shame about the heavy rain! Climbed to the top of the castle-steps extremely steep. Good views of surrounding area. Weirdly, we rarely, almost never, eat Korean food in Australia. This is despite the fact that we stay in Strathfield when we are down in Sydney and that is Korean town and filled with Korean restaurants. We will have to go there when we get home.

We called it a night after dinner and Shigeki and Norzin drove us back to the hotel. We will see Norzin tomorrow morning but Shigeki has to work in Mito, a suburb 2 hours away.

... level of the shopping centre as all the restaurants had a long queue. It was peak lunch hour. The only downside was there was no place to sit and eat. The Japanese do not eat in public except for an ice cream. Unfortunately, the only option was to eat in the hotel foyer or out in the open at the quadrangle outside the hotel.
