    ... her husband go each weekend. They own a family home, another small home and lots of land there. We went to a sunflower field owned by the brother and took some great photos. The brother opened up the village church for us which was full of gold painting and murals and sculptures and a bell tower. Only 12 people live permanently in the village now, but lots of family go back to the old family homes in the holidays.

    ... albergue in Najare where 100 bunks were squeezed into a small room and all the windows were closed at night. The place was sweltering and stank! Some albergues are "donotivo" or donation based whilst others range from €5-10 so very reasonable really. After having a much needed shower and hand-washing my clothes (as I'm only carrying two sets of clothes) I can relax with a beer and discuss the day and tomorrow's route with fellow pilgrims.     Wow another late start but there was brekky in the Albergue this morning and we had to walk only 2km to coffee. Bitterly cold but no snow; balaclava, buff, gloves and all jackets and wind britches on! And pee stops were limited - bearing it to the 3 degrees was a little icy, but 3 degrees makes your bladder work overtime! And we walked for 24 kms never breaking a sweat, just marching on through the cold and the only thought on arrival ...
