^^<br><br><br><br>
Jakarta, Java, Indonesia chibisimo... the lonely planet says and we're not really interested in going to see monuments or museums so there not many options left if you're trying to do things on the cheap. It's difficult to get round without getting a taxi (which aren't that expensive to be fair) and lots of the malls and other thing seem to be a good few miles away from where we're staying. Thats why on our last day, as I'm typing this, we're sat in Starbucks in an air-conditioned shopping mall ...

Bogor, Java, Indonesia 110319774... to myself. My own 1000 year old watchtower. I poked around for a while and took some pictures and a video about how the girls couldn't come because their legs were too short (which is the real reason they gave me). After 30 or so min. I went back to find them. To get up to the wall we rode a cable car and to get down we rode on a giant slide that went way too fast be to anywhere close to being safe ...
Jakarta, Java, Indonesia rreit129... and drunkest individual was an American. The good news is that I finally got to eat the very first dish that I ordered: Gado gado. It was not like any other dish that I have eaten before, but it was packed with vegetables and seemed healthy and delicious. I have heard that this is a pretty famous Indonesian dish so I am sure I will get to sample it from other restaurants. Based on the menu selection, I believe that Pappas Kafe is likely an Indian owned ...
Jakarta, Java, Indonesia aaronpolarbear... The locals were beyond curious, i doubt they'd seen a westerner before. but they didnt "steal me" or "stab me". I had a few locals attempt to "have a word" as some might say but seen as those words werent anything i understand, it could of been anything from "oh really wow i love your skin what moisturiser do you use" to "give me your bloody money or im going to shank you". Needless to say im still here and everything is just gravy. Sumatra next.
Jakarta, Java, Indonesia stewelee... her along as she still hasn't let go of my arm. "You must come back and stay with us in the dorm, promise?" she's still tryin'. "God, how many times can you play the same joke on me and still expect it to be funny? You boring *******!" #3) I got no plan now so disappear behind the wall of the shop next door to consult me guidebook for a 3rd suggestion when a lady in a bar across the road yells out "Are you looking for a room?" "How much?" i ask "50" "Ok, I look". It's a ...
Jakarta, Indonesia goldenbez... to wear. So yesterday I bought a few necklaces, some earrings and a new watch (just a cheap Casio so I don't care if it gets lost/stolen). The whole lot was less than $40US. I even bought a fake wedding band set for when I'm walking around during the day. (My guide book advised it.) So the wedding band I should explain, especially so when/of you see it in my pictures you don't say. 'what??' Indonesia is 89% Muslim ...
2 weken!!!!! Jakarta, Indonesia mettetimmermansThe best of Sumatra's spirit dwells in her children. Nowhere in the world have I seen such a readiness to smile, wave and say hello. Partly it's because we're bules, I know. "Bule" (pronounced boo-lay) is the term for Westerner, but it is not to be taken as derogatory. If anything, we're like movie stars. When we fair-skinned women walk through the village or ride atop the bus, children of all ages and states of dress, from naked urchins splashing in ...
