... shouting and whistle blowing from the angry pistol carrying policeman. He asked me if I had any cigarettes or spirits on board and had a look in the toilet. I said no and he let me go on which was lucky as I had a kilo of cocaine in the wardrobe and 3 Libyan refugees hiding under the sofas. So sadly although Andorra has been ticked off the list, I can only say I saw traffic and more traffic and for some reason, endless tyre fitting bays. If I go back again, it ...

Day nine

This will be a fairly short entry since Peter and I cycled by ourselves today. Barry had proposed an alternate rout which was taken by Werner, Barry, Steve, Gilles, Don, Sue, Peter and I. In retrospect, I think the sign refers to the maximum grade over any kilometre, rather than maximum grade for any shorter distance, because for the first time I was going slow enough that flies became a problem, something I have heard others complain off but heretofore haven't experienced. The bottom of the ascent is ...

DAY 8/June 21: Les, Spain to Oust

... waited at the bottom in Seix and then we rolled the final 2 km to our hotel in Oust together.

I would have ridden the planned extra loop at the end of today's route if we had started earlier, it wasn't such a hot day, and we didn't have a swimming pool waiting for us. So not long after we pulled in just after 4pm, I was down at the pool with a bunch of the others who'd arrived earlier.
The water was...let's call it refreshing. ...
