On my last full day I went to see the emperor at the imperial palace. They only open the palace on 2 days a year and the entire royal family appears on a balcony to give a short speech. Everyone had Japanese flags that they waved around like mad. Also an interesting experience.

... we agreed to meet in the courtyard after an hour and headed our seperate ways. I loved it. There were all different baths to choose from including outdoor baths, steam rooms and really painful waterfall showers. All the baths were heated by the water from the hot spring. Heute sind wir nach Hita um uns dort ein Sakemuseum anzusehen. Das Museum war nicht so besonders aufregend, aber man konnte Sake kosten. Und weil das, was wir da so gekostet haben nicht schlecht geschmeckt hat, haben wir gleich drei verschiedene Sake mitgenommen.
Die Gegend rund um das Museum, Mameda-cho, ist recht hübsch, also sind wir dort noch ein bisschen spazieren gegangen.
