    ... up to the 7,000 ft summit. We headed to lunch at the Kulm Hotel and just afterward a huge storm hit the peak with a whopping force. Thunder, lightning, hail, winds and pouring rain. The driver of the cogwheel tram with a 50% angle at times down the mountain said he'd never seen a force of storm like this. It all added to the excitement of trip back down the mountain.

    ... it was Christmas Day and nothing open. Couldn't convince the Heathrow help person to let us back in the departure area to buy some wine but she very helpfully went in for us! Might in the Hilton just like being in a hotel in Sydney. But we were in London! We were shattered, excited and tired all at once. Crashed very early then both awake at 3am..... Wine time! Lol.     ... found on the Zyt tower chiming one minute before all of the other clocks in Lucerne. It was built in 1535; the pendulum is 9 meters long! It was hard work climbing those stairs especially with short legs like mine! Coming down also not for the faint hearted! However the views from the top are breathtaking and I'm very pleased I did it. I also walked over a bridge that has the Wasserturm Water Tower built in ca 1300 as part of the city wall to serve as holder ...
