... visit even to the point that the locals drive to France to do all their large shopping, including grocery shopping.
The hotel we were staying at was 20mins out of Interlaken 1100m up the mountain and has the best views of Lake Thun and the cities below.

Took gondola from Gimmelwald to Stechelberg, rode (free!) bus from there back to Lauterbrunnen. Ate at Pub Horner, had Raclette again, this time with swiss Feldschlosschen beer. Came back to hostel, did laundry.

Of course we got chatting to this chap who tells us he simply runs for the edge of the cliff and simply jumps as far off as possible. He races through the air freestyle for about 7 seconds then opens his parachute and lands. The whole process takes about 15seconds. To me it just seems a lot of hard work for only 15seconds of fun!!

After the 10 hour drive from Paris we finally arrived at the stunning town of Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland at around 6. We had log cabins bunking 4 of us which was insulated nicely. Topdeck has a permanent tent set up to cook us up storms of yummy Swiss food. After dinner we made some new friends and went on a walk around the small town, up a waterfall and back to the camping grounds for some drinks. We had 3 Topdeck tours and British Military staying there so it was a bit of a rowdy night. ...

After an early dinner, the evening meeting was held in the English Church in Wengen, so we Ruth and I caught the train up the mountain. The church is a pretty white, steep roofed building set back from the main street.
