... we were back on the plane headed for London. It was sad for Anita's relatives throughout this trip. They hadn't seen her for 10 years (some had never met her) and weren't sure when they'd see her again. One thing i'd learnt along the way was Polish families are close, so to say goodbye to her was a tear jerking moment. What wasn't so tear jerking was the flight back. I was impressed with W!zz...even if they do spell their name with an exclamation mark!

Jelenia Góra ('deer mountain') is about couple of hours south from Wroclaw (trains or buses). It is close to the Karkonosze mountain range running along the Polish-Czech border. ... people fought and protected there territory and now its all open.<br><br>Our last day in Czech was a drive towards the Krkonose mountains, we wanted to maybe catch a chair lift and walk some of the peaks in the area but the hot weather had finally turned into massive thunderstorms. That seemed to sum up our outdoor plans since we have been on the road, so we stocked up with Czech beer one last time and took the wet route into Poland, now there was no turning back.

al the former eastern bloc countries make for good travel,, but the one that i return to is the czech republic,, mainly to the north [north bohemia],liberec,harrochov,cesky raj, but a trip or two to moravia is also worth taking,,. during the communist times it was an eye opener, now also as the people wish for the return of those times,they knew where their bread was coming from, and the upgrades fron old skoda to super fast motorcars,, ah they stilll are crazy on the roads

W Pradze dotarlismy do stacji metra "Cerny most" i stamtad wsiedlismy w autokar Student Agency do Liberca. Tam okazalo sie, ze wiekszosc osob jezdzi do Polski przez Niemcy, co dla nas bylo bez sensu. I'd love to make it back to these parts some day, and do the seven hour hike from Mt Sniezka to Mt Szrenica, at the western end of the park near the town of Szklarska Poreba. Unfortunately, that wouldn't be happening for a while as I only had another 6 weeks left in Poland before I was to fly to Scotland to begin a position at a summer school. Nevertheless, it was a great opportunity to see a part of the country I'd never seen.
