The town was beautifully presented with a large square which had a number of memorials including one to the leader of the Resistance who died in 1945.

... To start October off we visited Chartres. Chartres is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. It's centerpiece is the Cathedral, which has an interesting story of its own (but I'll spare you this time and move on with my story). It was a truly incredible sight.
