... quite a while in the cathedral....just amazing. It's hard to fathom just how old it is and how it was built. To think we climbed the same stairs that Thomas Becket once climbed. It's a huge place with enormously high ceilings. Then a short drive to board the ferry for the trip across the channel to France. We've lost an hour so it's become very late very quick.....but doesn't feel like it, still light at ...

... we were diverted back to the office to change our tickets and opted to pay extra to get on the next ferry rather than come back at 2 pm. We got a ticket for the 10am ferry which eventually left at 11.45am but with a busy weekend ahead we didn't want to be hanging around any longer. ... least satisfactory. Coverage is not magnificent, and topping it up is a pain. You do not appear to be able to do it online, and, if you appear to need a French Fixed line to do the registration if buy a top up voucher. As if all that was not bad enough, the top up does not seem to be instant, it takes a couple of hours to “come through”. Unless, when I have topped up, it has coincided with French Lunchtime ...

What another shocker of a night, howling gale and pouring rain again, by morning it has stopped raining and wind has died down, but, it is cold (7C). The village is at least 2km away, so, it is decided we will go somewhere different.

Lazy last morning, not leaving the hotel until late morning. Drove the short distance to Le Touquet centre, and walked along the long, sandy almost deserted beach. There were a few families with children flying kites, or building sand castles, but it was cool and a bit breezy, so not deck chair weather. In fact most beachers were wearing coats and scarves!
