Today saw the start of the 'Fete de Mer' here in Boulogne so the place is full, we have a boat rafted up next to us - Harviette from Dover a Fairline Phantom with it being really busy. After a quick freshen up back at the hotel, we went into town for a quiet dinner for two. Many of our group were wandering around so we ended up in an eight at a very good French restaurant and had the best French red wine we have ever had from the Medoc region. Bed at 11.30. ...

Up at 7 am for a good breakfast ((if a little Fawlty Towers) and in the bus to golf by 8.30. Hardelot, Le Pins, was a great course set amongst pine and oak trees but much sparser than other days. It was established in 1905. There were very classy houses set amongst the trees and all was beautiful except the weather. After I had played four holes, the heavens opened and the lightning horn sounded and we had to leave the course. We ...
