... side of the road. The roundabouts do your head in a bit. All the French people we have met so far have been wonderful. Helpful and smiling and trying to help which is great. The countryside is delightful with tree lined roads and little villages snuggled into nooks and crannies and there is always the beautiful old church and graveyard to go with it. I am looking forward to exploring this country. The Beast is shaping up ...

Wet Start in France

After getting off the Euro Tunnel Train it was a bit of guess work as to where we would go. It was pouring with rain and cold and windy so we decided that we wouldn't go far. We have a great camp site app so I checked a few out and we hunkered down in a delightful little campground where the french lady was helpful, lovely and oh so French. Loved that. The crops of cereal are about 400 mm high and the farmers are busy spraying. The country side is lush green. Had to repair the power board as we blew a fuse in the unit and are having trouble getting a ...

Saturday was a requisite travel day. We said goodbye to our 13th Cent. Manor house, and Suzi the cat, and began our 4hr drive to the north. The kids, as well as Sally and I, really enjoyed Le Manoir, so I am hoping they will enjoy our next stop in Quend-Plage-les-Pins. Beach life awaits.

We negotiated the auto-routes without much difficulty (only once cutting across a couple lanes of traffic to get to our exit); managed ...
