... unreal, sun is fierce and not a breath of wind. Afternoons on the balcony are the order of the day, listening to all the birds shouting at each other and arguing over bread dropped on the floor at the cafe by the lake.
Only downside is having to wait until 7 till the restaurants open. Not easy for two gluttons like us. Had a rubbish meal first night too which is enough to put us in a bad mood for about a week. Italy almost done. ...

... others who took the ferries from nearby villages for a walk through the old town. We walked out to the point and up in the nearby hills for views of the lake and mountains. The low lying clouds prevented much of a view of the Alps but those of the lake and villages were ok. The abbey is home to a monastic community which dates back to the 7th century. The abbey itself was built sometime in the 15th century and the church attached to it was simple but beautiful and was all set up for a wedding. ...

... the way down from the mountains. I thought " Yaa, these little tunnels...piece of cake, no problem bru"
The results: Stef was positively surprised after the first tunnel, I was blown away from the dust, the cars and the volume levels a normal car can produce in a tunnel. It's LOUD, and there is less air going through then through a chain smokers lungs!
But I also had my Yippieeh moment. In the last tunnel ...

(First, read "About this blog", above.) This time we left San Diego in the evening which is a whole lot easier than 6 in the morning like last time. Although it was our normal sleep time as we flew, we didn't get much sleep and arrived in London a bit tired. By the time we got to Rome it was late night so we stayed at Melissa and Livio's (M&L's) and slept well, but not long enough. In the afternoon we went to the place we had rented via VRBO, a ...
