By this time in my trip, I thought my Spanish was pretty good. I could fully understand conversations and was starting to get more confident speaking...that was until a Colombian tried to speak to me and I had absolutely no idea what he was saying. Nada! I was so shocked! Everyone had said that Colombian Spanish was the easiest to understand, but I found it so hard. It may be because I had studied Argentinian Spanish and spent a lot of time with ...

... 8230; I initially thought the potato bomb was made of potato when Linda told me about it but it made a huge bang and definitely could have done some damage if someone was close to it! Nobody seemed to budge as they are used to this type of thing here but being completely unprepared I had a little wobble but managed to stay in my seat! ... city. Theres some unsafe neighbourhoods, like in all citys, but lucky for me, I get to bring my hostels rothweiler for walks. Im pretty safe.

On one occasion, my group are approached by two young police men, fully dressed, holding guns. Turns out they just want a bit of banter. We make friends pretty quickly, as they add us on facebook and show us homemade porn they made on their mobiles. Glad to know we're in such safe hands in the city...
