    ... also a good option. After a little walk there is a lake-shore of around 1 kilometer semi-circled around Sirmione. It has a beach-like view over 300 meters long walk-way. After it, there is a wooden bridge which goes a little over the lake. Few yards after, there is a tall rock situated right adjacent to the lake, and the view is beautiful.     Tuesday 20th October

    Up at 5.30 & off to return the car at 7.00. Finally arrived at Gatwick airport at 7.30 & the plane left at 10.15 for Verona. Arrived in 90 minutes & took the shuttle bus to the station & a taxi from there to our Residencia. It isan amazing place with beautiful old furniture, cooking facilities & a lounge area, about 3 times as big as we had envisaged.

    ... to the Monument cemetery. A truly different kind of cemetery from those in the states. A very large area with big headstones, mausoleums, monuments and photos of the dead. The Italians take funerals and remembering the deceased very seriously. Our last stop was at the kitschy Balcony of Juliette. Although a fictional character of Shakespeare, this is a popular stop with a balcony for the tourists.

    One thing I didn't mention is that by now most of the busload of people were enjoying a shared 'cold/flu/sinus infection' that.....initially sniffles and coughs blamed on a 'chill from the airconditioning' I can vouch for as a BLOODY VIRUS OR BACTERIAL INFECTION you idiots.
